DaimlerChrysler Espana Holding SA is a company involved in the management activities of a holding firm for various subsidiary undertakings within a group active in the manufacture and distribution of automobiles. Incorporated in June 1972, the company handles the administrative affairs and services of a holding company and grants management services to its subsidiaries. It also provides financial support and control function for the board. Furthermore, DaimlerChrysler Espana Holding is responsible for managing the group and its overall legal structure, tax planning, financial and equity structures. In addition, the company is involved in matters of policy, strategic planning, marketing, selecting and manning senior management positions, approving investments and budgets, and the overall ongoing monitoring of the group companies' performance. Some of DaimlerChrysler Espana Holding's subsidiaries include DaimlerChrysler Espana SA, a private company engaged in the manufacture, distribution, marketing, purchase, sale, and repair of cars, spare parts, and accessories; Evocus Iberia S.A., a private company engaged in the manufacture, repair, and wholesale of engines and components for transportation vehicles; and DaimlerChrysler Gestion Immobiliaria S.A., a company engaged in the sale and distribution of motor vehicles. Based in Alcobendas, Spain, DaimlerChrysler Espana Holding is owned by DaimlerChrysler AG, a German car corporation and the world's fifth largest car manufacturer. As well as automobiles, DaimlerChrysler manufactures trucks and provides financial services through its DaimlerChrysler Financial Services arm.
